grade point average

to be eligible for admission consideration, applicants holding nitec or higher nitec qualifications must achieve the following grade point average (gpa).
  • nitec ≥ 3.5
  • higher nitec ≥ 2.0

applicants who are currently taking the direct-entry-scheme to polytechnic programme (dpp) with a gpa ≥ 2.5 / ≥3.0 will be able to apply for mapped courses. applicants will be guaranteed a place in one of these mapped courses if their final ite raw gpa meets the qualifying requirements.

admission to rp is based on academic merit and subjected to available vacancies of our diploma programmes. meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee that applicants will be offered a placement in the diploma programme. these requirements are set in place to ensure fairness to all applicants

essential mathematics

ite upgraders who are admitted into rp’s courses that include the a113 mathematics module will be provided with additional lessons and practice to strengthen their mathematics foundation.

they will be enrolled into an additional bridging mathematics module for this purpose. this module will enable students to better cope with the demands of the technical content in their respective courses.

this essential mathematics module will be taken by ite upgraders admitted into the following diploma courses. those who have passed the ite bridging mathematics module may be exempted from this essential mathematics module.

applicants holding nitec or higher nitec qualifications can apply for admission to our full time diploma courses through the following admission exercises.
  1. early admissions exercise for ite students (eae-i)

  2. joint polytechnic admissions exercise (jpae)

  3. direct admissions exercise (dae)

conditions for admissions

a. students must read the terms and conditions for each admission exercise before they apply for admission to republic polytechnic (rp) when the application window is open.

b. students must provide all supporting documents related to their admission application such as academic qualifications, related certificates or other documents as requested by the polytechnic for admission consideration.

c. students are admitted to the polytechnic based on the specified assessment criteria.

d. students must provide true and accurate information in the application forms, including a full declaration of any medical condition or disability.

e. students must attend interviews whenever contacted by the polytechnic as part of the evaluation procedures to determine their suitability for the diploma courses.

f. International students must comply with the instructions to apply and collect the Student’s Pass issued by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) before they start their enrolment procedures with the Polytechnic.

g. if any of the above conditions are not met, rp reserves the right to:
  1. rescind an offer of admission to any applicant;

  2. report the applicant to authorities for wrongful declaration and

  3. disallow the applicant from continuing with the admission process
